WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.
The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.
Recycle Points
The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.
Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item, however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon or armor. item upgrading Casesgg will show the item's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currency types.
A lot of locations offer upgraders for items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and a possibility of getting a new recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and a drawback.
In Season 3, the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with some new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a specific item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will be less expensive, even when they are part of an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is affixed to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
Players have several choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. They can choose to use Flightstones that are a general upgrade currency available to all players, or crests, which are more specialized and used to upgrade specific levels of the item. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.
The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be spent on gear of a specific rank, and that each rank has different requirements for upgrading. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the kind of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, which involves walking around and performing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader for the item like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it does bring some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
Another notable change is that crests have one usage, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance it's a good idea to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests with the best gear you have available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character that will be able to benefit from the account-wide discount when all of the slots are full of high-quality equipment.
